This agreement is between you and the Amethyst Client team ("we"). It covers the Amethyst launcher, the Amethyst client mod that runs inside Minecraft, the online features, and amethystclient.com. By installing or using Amethyst, you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not use Amethyst.
What Amethyst is
Amethyst is a free Minecraft Java launcher and a Fabric client mod. It is a private project. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
Who can use it
- You need your own Minecraft Java account. Minecraft's own terms (the Minecraft EULA and the Microsoft Services Agreement) still apply to everything you do in the game.
- If you are younger than 13, or younger than the age your country requires, a parent or guardian must agree to this for you.
What you may do
- Install and use Amethyst on your own computers for your own play.
- Share the link to amethystclient.com with anyone.
What you may not do
- Sell, rent or re-upload Amethyst, or pass it off as your own.
- Take apart, decompile or change the launcher or the client, or try to get around its update signatures, except where the law allows it.
- Use the client mod outside the Amethyst launcher.
- Attack, overload or try to break into amethystclient.com or the online service.
- Use Amethyst to break the rules of a server you play on. Every server sets its own rules. Some do not allow mods such as freelook, minimaps or hitboxes. Check the rules and switch off what a server does not allow. Amethyst follows the limits that servers send to minimaps.
Mods and other downloads
The launcher downloads Minecraft from Mojang, Fabric from FabricMC, Java from Eclipse Adoptium, and mods, resource packs and shaders from Modrinth. Those files belong to their authors and come with their own licences. We do not make them and we are not responsible for what they do.
Capes, screenshots and other things you upload
- You keep the rights to what you upload. You give us permission to store it and show it to other Amethyst players for as long as you share it.
- Only upload what you have the right to share.
- Not allowed: nudity or sexual content, hate symbols, slurs, extremist symbols, graphic gore, harassment of a real person, or anything illegal.
- Every new cape is checked automatically by an AI model before others see it. A cape it refuses is not shown. We may remove any upload and turn off online features for anyone who breaks these rules.
Updates
The launcher updates itself from amethystclient.com. Every update is signed, and the launcher installs it only when the signature and checksum match. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
No warranty
Amethyst is free and provided as it is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep it safe and working, but we cannot promise that it is free of bugs or that it will always be available. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using it, including lost worlds, bans from servers, or problems with other software. Keep backups of worlds you care about; the launcher can make them for you.
Ending
You can stop using Amethyst at any time by uninstalling it. We can stop offering it, or stop your access to the online features, at any time.
Changes to this agreement
When this agreement changes, the launcher shows the new version and asks you to accept it before you continue. The date at the top shows the current version.
